Concept This poetic and dream like play by Beckett depicts the Reader and the Listener as they sit with each other in a tiny room. Tone’s design intended to take a large space and make it feel small. The design focuses on the emotions of sadness, loneness and the feeling of suffocation. All of this would be extenuated by water pouring down the walls of the room and pooling at the actors feet. Isolation and compression and emphasized through the abstract and heavy walls of the structure.
